Inspection Information
Scheduling an Inspection
To schedule an inspection, please call 651-554-3220 during the office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please call 24 hours in advance. All inspections occur between 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The building official is available for questions Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Electrical Inspections
Electrical inceptions are scheduled with Patrick McMullen at 612-866-1979. He is available for calls Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Roof Inspections
Pictures of the ice and water barrier application are acceptable prior to scheduling your final inspection.  You may bring them to our office or email them showing the property address.  We will respond to your email with an inspection date.  All 3 tab shingles must have a 90 mph wind rating.

Siding Inspections
The Buiding Inspector will need to gain access to your home to check for combustion air to your furnace and/or a carbon monoxide detector in your home.  This is a state energy code requirement.  Pictures of the house wrap will also be required.

Windows/Doors Inspections
The Building Inspector will need to gain access to your home to check for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and their placement.

Backflow Prevention - DLI Testing Fact Sheet
The testing requirements for testable non-RPZ devices became effective for installations on or after January 23, 2016. Minnesota State Plumbing Code requires that all testable backflow devices be tested upon installation and annually thereafter by a certified backflow assembly tester.
