We provide quality parks, trails and programs that are accessible and enriching to our community. Our park system includes over 240 acres of active and natural space enhanced by a variety of seasonal recreation programs and activities.

The Four Divisions of the  Parks & Recreation Department
The South St. Paul Parks & Recreation Department is comprised of five divisions: Parks & Recreation Administration, Recreation and Facilities, Central Square Community Center, Doug Woog Arena.

Parks & Recreation Administration
Provides direction and staff support to the Parks & Recreation Department and coordinates the Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission.

Parks and Facilities
Provides programs, special events, and opportunities for all ages from preschool to seniors that are both fee and non-fee based. On average more than 250 programs are offered providing leisure opportunities to over 13,000 participants annually. Park facility operation includes:

Central Square Community Center (CSCC)
A dynamic community center that offers its members and visitors a wide range of activities and opportunities. The facility houses:
  • Fitness Center Featuring Cardio and Strength Machines
  • Activity Rooms
  • Gymnastics Center
  • Indoor Competition Pool
  • Public Meeting Rooms

CSCC is proud to be the home of the South St. Paul Senior Center and Parks & Recreation Department offices.

Our Mission Statement
The goal of Central Square Community Center is to meet the needs of our community and our members by providing an excellent facility with superior customer service at a reasonable cost.
