The South St. Paul Mayor’s Youth Task Force is kicking off the 11th Annual Hat, Mitten and Sock Drive to benefit the SSP School District and Neighbors, Inc.
The SSP Mayor’s Youth Task Force is teaming up with Ashes Fire Truck Rental on December 1st at the SSP Annual Community Tree Lighting Event at Central Square Community Center from 5:00 until 6:00 pm. Everyone that brings a donation will receive a ride on Ruby the Red Nose Fire Truck.
If you cannot make the Annual Tree Lighting, hats, mittens and socks will be collected at the SSP City Hall (125 - 3rd Avenue No.) until December 15th.

Mark your calendar for the 2019 Annual South St. Paul Community Tree Lighting event as it kicks off the holiday season in South St. Paul. It will take place on Sunday, December 1st from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Central Square Community Center. This event is completely outdoors, so dress accordingly. We're going to light up the Square!

The council meetings are open to the public and you have the opportunity to address the City Council during the Citizens Comments portion of the agenda. On the first Monday of the month the EDA will meet following the Council Meeting.

The Planning Commission is a seven-member citizen commission, appointed by the City Council to four-year terms. The Planning Commission advises the City Council on all planning, zoning, and land uses within the community. Duties of the Planning Commission include the review of all development and redevelopment proposals and the enforcement of the Comprehensive Plan.

Read Across South St. Paul is back for its 18th season. The 2019-2020 Read Across South St. Paul will kick off on Friday, October 4th at Lincoln Center and Kaposia Education.
The first Friday of each month has been designated Read Across South St. Paul in the Elementary Schools. This is a partnership between the City and School District making it truly a community program. Volunteers have the opportunity to read to students at Lincoln Center and/or Kaposia Education Center in a classroom setting. Read Across South St. Paul times are 9:00 at Lincoln Center and 9:30 am at Kaposia Education Center.
Books will be provided each month relating to the theme. Read Across South St. Paul takes about 30 minutes each month and a great way to give back to the community.

There will be games, prizes, treats and fun music for the entire family.
